There is an entire thread on this forum of people who hate Elon Musk bc he grew up in South Africa which makes him ipso facto a racist, and he's taking over Twitter so that he can promote racism. What you interpret as hate is just some gentle pushback against the cult of personality he has somehow acquired. I don't think that many people, aside from some terminally online Twitterers, think that his South African upbringing automatically makes him a racist or that he's an evil foreigner. It's just that he's plainly not some sort of brilliant visionary. He's just a dude whose dad owned an emerald mine, and who became incredibly wealthy through a series of acquisitions of companies - to his credit - that he built.
