Another Fact - It takes 30,000 lbs of Iron Ore to produce 30 lbs of Cobalt for each 1,000 lb EV battery.
Fact: electricity used to be produced with nearly 100% of fossil fuels.
Fact: Republicans have fought all progress toward clean energy for the last thirty years.
Fact: point source pollution is better than non point since it can be regulated, cleaned up and improved.
Fact: a solar array on a home can power your car https://news.energysage.com/solar-panels-and-electric-cars-can-i-use-solar-to-charge-my-vehicle/ (That would be zero carbon pollution for those having trouble keeping up).
Fact: Elon Musk is the largest seller of both solar and EVs in the US
Fact: Democrats hate him
Fact: This is deeply confusing
I dispute your “fact” that Democrats hate him. I don’t know a single democrat who hates him. I have friends who are tired of reading about Musk. But I do not know anyone who hates him.
There is an entire thread on this forum of people who hate Elon Musk bc he grew up in South Africa which makes him ipso facto a racist, and he's taking over Twitter so that he can promote racism. Also, Biden is doing this big American EV push and won't invite Tesla because, again, Elon is an evil foreigner.
What you interpret as hate is just some gentle pushback against the cult of personality he has somehow acquired. I don't think that many people, aside from some terminally online Twitterers, think that his South African upbringing automatically makes him a racist or that he's an evil foreigner. It's just that he's plainly not some sort of brilliant visionary. He's just a dude whose dad owned an emerald mine, and who became incredibly wealthy through a series of acquisitions of companies - to his credit - that he built. He also happens to be a mercurial prick in full public view, a charge which, puzzlingly, his cultist fans deny vehemently.
What and idiotic post. He was raised in Canada with his siblings after the mom fled SAfrica and the ex husband.
“Gentle pushback” of a bunch of obvious lies?
“Personality he somehow acquired” like being very successful in school, business and inventing?
Wow. What leftist websites are posting that garbage? Pls put links down. Hilarious uninformed slander.
I beseech you, turn off your computer and go outside.

Ah yes, the ole “quick pass a message..er, I mean bill…that will do nothing that we claim it will” move. Wowza no one saw that one coming! Surely people will think the party who passed the “oil and gas price gouging bill” has nothing to do with gas prices now! Good one dems, you’ll definitely win in November! If you cross your fingers really really hard.

There are a lot more ways to make clean energy.
Nuclear energy comes to mind. We ought to be building a lot more nuclear power plants. They are clean and will supply a lot of energy for decades while we get solar energy much more efficient and not dependent on the Chinese or oil.
Scientists are busy developing zillions of ways to create clean energy in ways you've never imagined. It's coming, slowly.
In the meantime, shut all the coal plants, hike the price of gas to $10 per gallon and give subsidies to people with low incomes so they can afford to drive to work. We need to stop using fossil fuels, period. Do what you can to make that happen, one step at a time, one day at a time.

Say good bye to all of those traveling plans when a flight to Disney world costs $2200 per ticket.

Fact: Many wealthy Democrats reside in huge homes and jet around in private planes. They aren't worrying about clean energy or energy consumption. They DO like to admonish others.
Dp- your grandkids suffocate either way.
The point is that it's a universal problem and not about one political party or another.
This is intellectual laziness. It’s not a universal problem in the slightest. The GOP fights tooth and nail to keep as much dirty energy as possible and to keep that dirty energy as dirty as possible. You demand perfection of Democrats and don’t care to comment on the GOP smearing sht all over everything.
GOP’rs would insist on burning coal and oil even if it were far more expensive than solar and renewables. The sheer joy they get from knowingly killing the planet and making people die is worth the price premium for them.
