Childhood upbringing and attachment styles are the biggest predictor of infidelity... http://www.helenfisher.com/downloads/articles/INFIDELITY.pdf http://www.shirleyglass.com/introduction.htm
You can read all of the books and articles you want but at the end of the day men want to have sex and some will cheat to get it.
Exactly... that is what the article says... men don't care if the wife is Halley Barry or Teen Mom... men cheat. Women trying to "affair proof" their marriage are getting sold a whole bunch of BS.
This is a little more nuanced. All men want to cheat, but some won't because they don't want to risk a good thing at home. Also, as a penis-owner, I can promise you that men's pursuit of strange is drastically altered when you are drained vs. full. So there is no way to affair-proof a marriage but there are definitely things you can do to lower the risk (or raise the risk). It's like for men dealing with sexless marriages - you can do all the right things, be attentive, helpful and in great shape and still end up there, but it's also true that if you are rude fat jerk you are more likely to get there.
