It is interesting that when men do not marry, they are said to have commitment problems. It seems when women do not marry it's an ego thing. I have many single women friends(typical DC) in their late 30's early 40's who just feel they have to date/marry up, but there are not many men who meet their standard of equal or above. They just have really big egos and want the prefect guy because you know they are prefect(LOL). In reality there are many good men and women out there who end up marrying.[/quote]

Pp here. Actually I think I had the opposite problem throughout my dating life. I overlooked faults or incompatibilities, tried to make things work, and this wasted time working on relationships that never should have gone past three to six months. I wasn't picky enough before agreeing to monogamy and that led to wasted time.

All the guys who wanted to marry me were accomplished, smart, etc. Our personalities just weren't the right fit. One wanted differme things from a woman but wanted to be married so badly he overlooked that I wasn't what he was looking for. Another did not treat me well (I've posted about him before and people unanimously told me to move on). Etc etc. they were all great on paper, though.[/quote]
