When we were able to finally get married after 15 years of partnership and kids (thanks, marriage equality!) you're damn right I wanted a diamond on my finger.  It's the prettiest piece of jewelry I've ever owned and damned if I was going to pass up the chance to have a beautiful sparkly wedding set on my finger just because we didn't do things in the "right" order.  And straight folks have the right to do it their way, too.  Quit being the jewelry police.[/quote]
