While we're talking about crossing guards - we'd love one at Conn Ave and Tilden Street. How are our kids supposed to cross six lanes of traffic, where the lanes switch from 3-3 to 4-2 during rush hour, without a crossing guard? Sure, we'll do it the first couple of years, but eventually we'd love them to walk to Hearst by themselves.
Absolutely. Our kids walk to school (Stoddert) since grade 3. The idea of removing neighborhood schools is just nonsense and must be fought. Many families in Glover Park do not even own a car now that zip cars and similar are available at any corners. I am going to the working groups.
