Absolutely. Our kids walk to school (Stoddert) since grade 3. The idea of removing neighborhood schools is just nonsense and must be fought. Many families in Glover Park do not even own a car now that zip cars and similar are available at any corners.

EXACTLY. how can they encourage people to ditch cars and simultaneously threaten access to neighborhood middle and high schools?

Agree with this completely. Also, who knows what will happen before middle/ high school. Maybe Hardy will be a great option and Deal will only improve.
