I don’t think there are bids available for the club division. It’s not one of the divisions for the USAV Girls Junior National Championship tournament which requires all teams to earn a bid to enter. USAV introduced a new end of season tournament called the USA Volleyball Girls Junior Club Championship this year which does not require a bid to play. So, what is the point of playing in a qualifier, where you cannot qualify even if you are the top team in the division? Does that explain why the CH teams dominated that division? Good teams didn't really care?[/quote]
There are lots of multi-day tournaments that aren’t qualifiers that are popular nevertheless. Think Cap Hill, Volley by the James, East Coast Championship in Pittsburgh, etc. Traveling to play in a 3-day tournament to play against teams from a wider geographic area can be a highlight for teams with little hope of earning a bid, and Philly would be a decent option for CHRVA teams since you don’t need to fly to get there. I understand there are folks on these forums that feel that teams like that should lower costs and stick to regional tournaments, but personally I think there is value in the experience, even if there are no bids at stake.
