Nope. He refused to make any kind of a plan, like a normal, caring person would after his partner told him that something was important to her. Then he tried to make last minute plans and she was supposed to jump like a puppy and respond the second he sent a test. GTFOH

Oh please, the only playing games is him. He wanted to keep his options open and when she didn't respond within seconds, he rushed over to do what he wanted to do in the first place. So what that he didn't hear from her for a couple of hours? He knew it was her brithday and should have waited until he heard from her with a definite no to make other plans.
