OP is asking for dress advice on mommy board where most of the posters are decades older than her. So I am not sure about her fashion sense either.

As a practical matter, I don’t think I would have spent $250 for a dress for a one night event when I was in my 20s and 30s. I would have spent a lot less, and I tend to think dresses for younger women cost less because they on average for less to spend. [/quote]
I posted earlier in this thread; I am in my 30s and $250 for a dress is about right imo. Any cheaper and it's going to be one of those flammable looking things better suited for a college formal. My sister is getting married in a few months and my dress was about $300. And it's just a basic lined chiffon gown. [/quote]
