I cannot imagine giving a teacher a deadline made up by a teenager, just to relieve the teenager’s anxiety, or marching into office hours and announcing that you will sit there while the teacher does the recommendation. This is a FAVOR the teacher is doing, and making it as easy for the teacher as possible, while expressing gratitude is the only appropriate response.
