I'm kinda curious who the OP is. Here she is, trying to find ways to demand the U.S. and American Roman Catholics accept the immigrants on "their terms." She's throwing transparently guilt tactics here, as if we're children and she's the scolding elder. Guess what, lady. The U.S. is more than generous to immigrants. But you don't want to hear that, do you?
You have a lot of unclear antecedents. By "their terms" are you referring to Catholics' terms or immigrants' terms? And "more generous to immigrants" than ... who or what? more generous than we used to be? more generous than other wealthy nations? more generous than the Catholic teaching would demand? I may have started this thread, I honestly don't remember. In case I did, to answer your question: I am Catholic and am disgusted by this country's treatment of immigrants and, very especially, by any member of the Trump administration who claims to be Catholic.
I agree. It always comes back to how Jesus would treat people? Maybe someone who knows the Bible better than me can site examples of Jesus leading with any one of the following: dishonesty, greed, hate and attacking people. I really can’t recall any examples stories where this is the approach.
