I listen to the Bible, which is the absolute and final authority concerning faith, morals, and proper human sexual behavior. There are Catholics who do not agree with the pope and know that his opinion is false because if it does not align with scripture.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:The pope does not represent all Catholics, neither is the pope’s opinions always theologically correct.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I think many Catholics agree with this.
Only liberal “Catholics’’ might agree.
It would take someone being a supremely arrogant, pompous ass to think they know more about Catholic values than the Pope himself.
I guarantee they are far more theologically correct than yours, and whoever it is that you listen to.

Middle aged women were singing things like "oh way oh" and Arnold Schwarzenegger got up and noted how large of a voting block Catholics are. I am still processing what I witnessed. I've been to the Vatican and it's pretty obvious they've got the dough to come up with better production quality than that. Are they actively trying to make climate change activism so dorky? Between the Pope and Greta Thunberg, I have stopped recycling.

Pope Leo seems pretty intent on triggering them.
But he still takes their money. No issue with that. Ans as long as they still give $$$, they can still receive sacraments and participate in church life. So long as the spice, I mean, money, flows.

The MAGA split in the US Catholic church is going to be interesting.
If the Pope keeps it up I give it 6 months before someone in the Trump administration calls him leftist, communist, woke, enemy, or the like.
MAGA evangelicals don't really consider Catholics to be "Christian" in the way they are. It's not like they care what the highest Catholic cleric says.
True enough, but that’s what makes it funny … because Catholics are the only real Christians.

Guess what, lady. The U.S. is more than generous to immigrants. But you don't want to hear that, do you?
You have a lot of unclear antecedents. By "their terms" are you referring to Catholics' terms or immigrants' terms? And "more generous to immigrants" than ... who or what? more generous than we used to be? more generous than other wealthy nations? more generous than the Catholic teaching would demand?
I may have started this thread, I honestly don't remember. In case I did, to answer your question: I am Catholic and am disgusted by this country's treatment of immigrants and, very especially, by any member of the Trump administration who claims to be Catholic.
