-Not worrying about various wars. (Fux it!) -Not worrying about the imminent pandemic. (Though I am good with vaccinations and timely medical upkeep). -Not worrying about inflation. (We have scope to cut down expenses.) -Not worrying about Trump. (Fixed term of presidency. And he is an old man) -Not worrying about Crime. (We have a gun and other protection) - Not worrying about female reproductive rights. (We can go to country of origin for all medical tourism, plus kids are sensible) - Not worrying about AI. (Too many stupid and ill-educated people to be ever able to use AI properly. Besides, if everyone is unemployed, who will buy Amazon stuff?) - Not worried about Global Warming? (Fux it) - Not worried about microplastics. (Lessen use. Try and remain healthy. Fux it) - My Cancer. (ok. Fux it too. It is annoying but I will be ok) - Not worried about DH's job security. (We are retirement age. kids are done with college. We have good savings) - Not worried about our house payments( Low mortgage. Decent sized home). - Not worried about retirement. (We will age in place) - Worried about my grown kids future. (They are saving and being careful. We will bankroll as much as we can).
Imminent pandemic? What are you talking about not being snarky asking seriously.
Around the world, pandemics have happened several times in the past, much before COVID-19. That is the reason that countries like S.Korea had such great response to COVID, because they had already encountered SARs and variants twice before. The next pandemic is around the corner. Already, China is fighting with a Chikungunia outbreak. Marsburg virus, Ebola - these have outbreak all the time and international travel (and all sort of immigration) is also happening all the time. All experts agree that the next pandemic can happen in the next 5 years. Not a question of If but When.
