They really ought to replace Columbus Day with Immigrants Day. Unless you’re Native American, we are all descended from immigrants. I can’t move to Germany and become “German.” But anyone can move to the United States and become an “American.” It’s something powerfully unique to our country and has been one of the main contributors to American dominance and ingenuity.

Why we don’t have a holiday to celebration immigrants just blows my mind. It would actually be a great way to integrate them into American society. [/quote]

We don’t need any of these nonsense “federal holidays” off. They weren’t days off of work or school so years ago beyond in Boston, NY, and DC.[/quote]
