It’s just semantics. If you want us to say no human is illegal, that’s fine. But humans can be illegal immigrants, right? Humans can do illegal things, right? If a human enters the US illegally, that’s a criminal action. Would you prefer we can them “criminals”. That would be accurate, no?
Here is the problem and I sincerely think you don’t know this. It’s not “criminal” to enter the US illegally or to overstay your visa, just like it’s not criminal to do a 50 in a 35.
'It’s not “criminal” to enter the US illegally' just illegal. By the way, your point is no longer accurate. All non-citizens in the US who do not have green cards are required to register with the government, as of a week ago. All these people are now in criminal violation.
The situation with undocumented migrants currently on US soil is a snapshot in time. Most of these folks will remain in the US and will eventually receive legal status. Many others will be deported over the next year or two. The conversation to be had is in regard to what happens next with immigration and asylum protocols. Are we going to continue to go through these let 'em all in, kick 'em all out cycle of madness or will Congress step up to the plate and deliver for the American people?
