So much for cars, produce and most of what people buy at Walmart and Target. I guess their bribe wasn't enough.

And exactly what is the problem with this?

That you will pay more for everything. You think things are expensive now? Just wait.

Not 25% more. And you could pick US manufacturers instead. And US workers will get more jobs.

What is wrong with that ?

Trump started the reindustrialization of America, although Democrats don't like to give him credit for that. Biden has made a lot of progress, although Republicans don't like to give him credit for that.

These tariffs are just dumb. There are plenty of good ways to incentivize buying American and incentivize wage growth (which is inflationary). Then there are bad ways, such as this.

Oh, you mean like the Foxconn factory? What happened to that btw?

Biden got a deal for Microsoft to invest in the facility and it is basically up and running now.

If you have enough money that a 25 percent increase in cost for nearly everything is insignificant to you, great for you.

Prices on almost everything rose by over 50-100+% in the last 4 years. Just saying.....

Which was a global phenomenon due to COVID and supply chain issues.

He is undoing his beautiful NAFTA2.0 and is holding Canadien companies hostage for bribery to lift these tariffs on their products.

Nope, just certain imported items. Just more incentive to produce them stateside like we used to.

Make "Made in USA" great again. The man is businessman.

Yeah. The democrat globalists hate this. They demand their cheap Chinese crap Screw their own US workers.

It is mostly MAGAs who shop at Walmart and Target. And it is the democrats who unanimously supported the CHIPS Act to get manufacturing back into the US with positive effects already.

Just how Mexico folded paying for the felon’s wall lol. I’m going to put my money on Sheinbaum.

You all opposed the CHIPS ACT so you can just sit down with this mess. Do you think you can just snap a finger and voila, things get manufactured here?

Biden has invested trillions in the US manufacturing base (that the GOP opposed) but it will take years before those plants are online, so in the meantime, the American consumers will get reamed.

Almost everything anyone buys, both small items like a banana or appliances, cars and electronics, will all see price increases. Since so much of our gas for cars comes from Alberta, it would raise the cost of a gallon anywhere from $.35 to $.75 just off the top.

Fentenyl is already well below Trump45 levels and border crossings are back to Trump45 levels, so I guess we don't need the tariffs, right?

HAHAHAHA we’re about to end up in a trade war. Stupid MAGA.

I’m so glad I have a new iPhone, paid off cars, new appliances (thanks to a 2023 remodel), and don’t like to buy cheap crap at Walmart. Thoughts and tariffs to anyone who voted for this.

And all that produce coming from Mexico? You're gonna remember Biden's inflation fondly.

Not really.. Sellers will expedite imports right now, before Jan 20. Inventory will rise. Same sellers will become greedy and try to sell those goods at 'post tariff' prices. Goods will sit on shelves for a couple of months followed by fire sale! That's the best time to buy.

Also, technically, Tariffs are a one-time increase to a price and by definition are not inflationary.

So in your world corporations will sell things at a loss?

Either that or get stuck with inventory and go bankrupt. What do you think they'll do? Big corporations and Industry associations hire economists and data analysts to anticipate market behavior and tailor their practices to optimize profits. This will be just that.. unless of course, trump's shining demeanor on the throne inspires companies to start hiring and increase salaries for everyone such that GDP jumps and we all have so much disposable income that we don't mind the high cost of imported goods.

I seem to remember, hearing that people had a problem with high prices.
