Can some folks with experience with the process provide some insight on what communications look like in advance of September 1? What I understood is that schools really can't communicate with players and families until September 1 of Junior year. That said, I have also seen what appears to be informed commentary suggesting that there are schools that you might be certain will reach out who may not, and vice versa. If there are no comms, how would a family develop a view on who might reach out? Club communication? Guessing on who is at games? Prospect camp interactions? Some additional context here for those earlier in the process, and for the first timers, would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
It really is different for player and for every school, but our experience was we got very heavy views on Sportsrecruits (around 20 views) from the schools that were interested in the last month before Sep 1, and the schools communicated to our club director to gauge the level of interest that the player had in their school (ie was the school in the players top 3 schools, etc...). I could give you a longer dissertation here, but there is a FB group dedicated to this kind of thing. It's well-moderated, and you have to be accepted by the moderator. Its' called Recruiting Discussion: Parent-to-Parent Women’s College Lacrosse. Since you can't comment on posts anonymously, you don't get the drama that we come here for :), but it's very informative.
+1 I learned about this group on this board a couple of months ago and it is a great place to find information
