TELL IT PP!!!!!!!!! Steve was such a step down for Miranda. She settled in a ridiculous way, all because she got knocked up (which you’d think she wouldn’t do, if her prior actions on the show served as a prediction of future ones).

Because he was a bartender.  Fun job when you’re young or while you’re pursuing another career but I don’t recall him having any other ambitions.

Steve was a bartender when he met Miranda. He opened his own bar in the third or fourth season. So, while he wouldn't have been as wealthy as someone like Trey (old money/cardiologist) or Harry (attorney) he definitely had to have some $$$ to own his own bar and was clearly profiting off of it because I don't remember a storyline where he went bankrupt or the bar closed. Steve had no money. When he and Miranda broke up, he lived on Miranda’s couch because all he could afford were scary looking basement places in the outer boroughs.

He opened his bar with Aiden as an investor. Aiden had the cash. [/quote]
