There have been 51 carjackings in the last FOUR DAYS in DC. Note that 10 day. If you drive in the city, it will happen to you at some point.
Where on earth are you getting your numbers?
DP. DC police stats. 12 plus a day. People who dismiss crime: the carjackers will come for you.
MPD reports 49 carjackings YTD not 51 in 4 days. PP where are you getting this number? https://mpdc.dc.gov/page/carjacking However MPD data shows 447 thefts of motor vehicles YTD with W1, 2 and 5 showing highest numbers. DC does tend to charge UAU a lot. https://crimecards.dc.gov/all:property%20crimes/all:weapons/1:year%20to%20date/citywide:ward 447/31 = @14 cars stolen or carjacked per day YTD in 2024. Astonishing. No wonder insurance rates are rising.
