No, sarcasm noted, its a combination of things sure natural ability is one- coordinaton to run, stand on one foot, to kick balls around the house for fun, maneuver around furniture. If your two year old was doing that than I assume you invested lots of money into youth and club soccer, and I'm sure the results are there, all that 10,000 hours stuff see Gladwell, Malcolm. Clubs can showcase your talents, but very few clubs as currently structured have any interest in developing you. Fitting you into their team needs, system, or to feature a singular star player all happens in lieu of your development. Develop you to what? To go pro? To go to college? To be the stud of your intramural team? The model here is broken, clubs are still best platforms, but don't get it twisted that clubs develop any players. Parents wallets, kids ambition and work ethic, and yes some natural ability is necessary too[/quote]
