Before starting my own company, I was a consistently top ranked sales person. I out performed established people with 0 ramp time. That's a ringer. This girl? Not a ringer. If this was her first sales job that's too bad, not a company to learn from.
Also, I was let go in multiple lay offs even at the very top. No one is immune. I have no idea why she would feel targeted. #1 and #100 are all let go.
This is true. And part of why I think people responded to this video is they can either identify with that indignation one feels at the moment of the lay-off OR their e never been through it themselves and so are sort of indignant alongside her. When I was laid off en masse during an acquisition many years ago, the parent company was kind/wise enough to hire a team of transition consultants to help manage the exit process. And I’ll never forget how surprised I was as a late 20-something when one of the consultants explained that we would likely walk through the five stages of grief in the next couple of weeks, because losing a job is such a huge loss. I wasn’t expecting that and I was even skeptical that it would happen to me. No, I’d be fiiiiiiine. And I was. But not before going through all the stages just as he said we would. I think we just got to see Brittany in her anger phase… She’ll be okay.
