You're aware that the sympathetic carjacking teens are given no swift or appropriate sentence?  Your example is exactly the point.  This teen is being given a consequence, albeit not swift.  We are debating whether it's appropriate - whereas the armed carjacking teens are given no sentence at all and continue to merrily assault people and wreck cars.  [/quote]
