It does seem like there were deliberate efforts to prevent the case from being solved. The podcasts may not be right about him being involved, but there are significant questions that remain relevant. Specifically: [b]why? Why work so hard to keep the fbi out?[/b] Why was the new task force able to so quickly identify a likely suspect when they took over? It’s not clear all the murders were committed by one perpetrator. I don’t think this story is over.[/quote]

The moral dilemma, is how does the county executive keep a guy whose been on the cover of Newsday for having sex with prostitutes in a police car, in a marked unit and keep him as the chief of police? It had to be covered up somehow and they reallly didn't want to uncover the prostitution that the chief was in on during that time- so they wanted to keep the FBI out.
