The description of bodies found include a woman and her toddler child. I just can't.
What a monster. Is it me, or does he look "off" to anyone?
To add, he taunted the family of at least one of his victims. Not surprised, at all.
Interesting to me what drives these people over the edge? Clearly it was their upbringing, but so many "upstanding citizens"? They have at least two personas! Crazy.
It is not necessarily his upbringing. Never underestimate the power of one's genetic makeup. Scary.

"The confiscated items included a box for a Sharp video camera, as well as what appeared to be bags full of videotapes to go with it."
"Cops removed a disturbing portrait of a blond woman’s face with dark pupils and bruising below the eyes"
What are these quotes from?

Now that we know that most likely RH did it, I'm really not okay with the podcasts, etc that I've listened to that take lots of circumstantial and speculative info to pin it on the former police chief. He might be a bit of a criminal and weirdo, but he probably had nothing to do with this serial killer.
It does seem like there were deliberate efforts to prevent the case from being solved. The podcasts may not be right about him being involved, but there are significant questions that remain relevant. Specifically: why? Why work so hard to keep the fbi out? Why was the new task force able to so quickly identify a likely suspect when they took over? It’s not clear all the murders were committed by one perpetrator. I don’t think this story is over.
The moral dilemma, is how does the county executive keep a guy whose been on the cover of Newsday for having sex with prostitutes in a police car, in a marked unit and keep him as the chief of police? It had to be covered up somehow and they reallly didn't want to uncover the prostitution that the chief was in on during that time- so they wanted to keep the FBI out.
New task force came in without hesitation and nothing to cover up
There were allegations of a snuff film in the chief’s possession, which raises the question of whether the thing being covered up goes beyond having sex with prostitutes in his patrol car.I don’t think it’s a stretch to think something darker is in the mix than mere inappropriate conduct.
