Why isn't DH expected to mow?
My take is that he is/was, and that there is a lot of land, maybe with different corners or glades or whatever, and all able-bodied adults take a turn or have an area. Now that MIL isn't able-bodied, they were more heavily expecting OP to do the same amount of work she has done in the past. It's fine to ask, but not fine to expect or pressure.
There are people that you have to think about whether doing something twice will result in them expecting you to do it for the rest of your life. My father was one of these people and I made sure that I only did a nice gesture once so he didn't get used to it. He would remark that it was so nice when I did x and y and I would smile but not fall for the trap. OP, you need to nicely decline this "vacation".
