Is Maret as selective as Sidwell, GDS, and the Cathedral Schools?
for sporty kids. College outcomes can’t compare.
Maret is more selective. College placement is better or the same as Sidwell and Cathedral schools. It’s basically the same population of kids.
Outplacement statistics are available on each of these schools' websites. Don't listen to one person's uneducated and completely biased opinion on this forum for factual information. Here, for example, is a direct quote from STA's website: Over the past five years, the following colleges and universities have enrolled the most St. Albans graduates: University of Chicago (39) Yale University (19) Dartmouth College (16) Tulane University (13) Harvard University (10) Columbia University (9) Bates College (8) Davidson College (8) Boston College (7) Georgetown University (7) Northwestern University (7) Princeton University (7) Wake Forest University (7) Washington and Lee University (7) Washington University in St. Louis (7) Wesleyan University (7) Amherst College (6) Bowdoin College (6) Colgate University (6) Emory University (6) University of Virginia (6) Now Maret is completely different than STA and you may prefer the classroom culture, the educational philosophy, the politics of the parents to those of a Cathedral school. But clearly STA has comparable and arguably even better college outplacement.
And by the way, I still believe tha being a great student at a less intense school is the "hack" to high school happiness. Burke, Field, St. Andrews, SSFS and many that take plenty of incoming on these boards are great schools with great outcomes and a hell of a lot less stress.
100% This was/is my whole philosophy.
