My DS is gay. It's not trendy is real life. Or, rather, it may be trendy for girls - I don't know- but I do know that it's definitely not trendy for boys.
No one is saying it’s trendy for all kids. Only that there seem to be a lot of bandwagoners.
I'm the PP whose DS is gay. This whole convo is somewhat irritating because it does not specify girls. This is primarily a girl phenomenon, for whatever the reason. This isn't "kids." Sure, maybe a few boys will join as well but they're the vast minority. The gulf between boys and girls and how they are able to express their sexuality is so vast that it cannot be discussed in the same sentence. So, why does there appear to be so many girls in MS who identify as gay/bi/trans? FWIW, I don't care. They'll work it out. It'll be fine.
Seems perhaps this thread isn’t for you, but thanks for your thoughts.
All of these threads are like this. "Kids, kids, kids." No. It's girls, girls, girls. Don't pretend that there is inclusivity when there's just not.
It's not just girls. There are also trans girls who are AMAB. You can opt your DC out of this conversation - but we are still wondering.
