NP - Thankfully, we live away from DC most of the time.  My neighbors grow their own food as well.  No one is taking anything.  I would love to see someone try.  [b]We have two large German Shepherds[/b] and we are armed. I’m a liberal Dem in favor of strict gun control.  But I’m not stupid.  No one would get past our gate.

We grow about 70% of our fruits and veggies.  We have chickens that lay plenty for our family plus enough to share. We live in the country where wildlife is plentiful.  We have a well plus a pond on our property.  And I have food stored that would last my family (including my adult kids) at least six months. We are always prepared.

Yes, after six years of a devastating war that destroyed a great deal of their infrastructure people would shoot and eat your dog. [b]All the animals in the Berlin Zoo were killed and eaten and most of the trees in Berlin were cut down for firewood. [/b]The Russians quite literally raped their way through Berlin.

I heard from a tour guide on a Berlin bike tour years ago and it appears he may have exaggerated a little according to this article, although it does mention hungry Germans killing and eating animals. The majority were killed in bombings. Another article says Russian soldiers butchered some for meat.
