If Bowser had put money towards staffing up for the challenge then that might have worked well, but nope. Even something creative, like assistant teachers to help the main teachers manage logistics. I get that there are resource constraints (also in the form that there doesn't seem to be anyone to hire). Also, did no one apply to the covid coordinator jobs? I do wonder what part of this is just not having the supply to hire (granting that DCPS seems very slow at hiring/clearing volunteers). What are the skill sets for "covid coordinators"?[/quote] I would expect something more by way of staffing to deal with a combination of in-person and distance learning. You don't get something for nothing, and that split is an added burden (at least if you want to try to do it well). So yeah, more staffing or paid overtime. I'd ask the principals and teachers what they need to be successful.[/quote]
