My teen fell in love on the tour, but I don’t see much about it here. Anyone have insight? They may end up there over JMU and several out of state options.
OP It's a fine school. We know 1 kid there now that loves it and is in the honors college. Another one just accepted there and is thrilled. DC toured there as well as many state schools (during pandemic, drive throughs). He didn't want to apply to GMU, UWM, wouldn't go see VaTech (not sure why), not UVA as he didn't have stats, as well as others we were able to see during the summer. He applied to CNU and JMU (and we forced a D3). Got into all three. He chose JMU over CNU due to size and location: he's an introvert but wanted a huge school, and he liked the mountains over the flats and didn't like the area around CNU. We would have been just as happy for him to go to CNU. Kids there just seem happy and our friend's son is pre-law and doing well. I grew up in that area and have seen the school go from a community college (in the 80's) to a university, so I really doubted it based on that history. But we were really impressed with the tour and our friends son's experience there.
