We love R. Burke. He wasn’t abusive at all. My DD developed so well under him. Players that hates him were either snowflakes, not talented enough and can’t handle the pressure. (I hope you can read the sarcasms.)
R. Burke was cancelled because of one player complaint along with a few anonymous claims yet the guy has coached 1000s of players of his years. I will say if he was in fact making insensitive racist comments, than he deserves what he got HOWEVER, again, it is more anonymous claims. Let's not forget the Post has also gotten in trouble for anonymous claims before. Those so called jokes have never been quoted. Anonymous claims should not be taken seriously. Cowardly is what they are and nobody is ever held accountable. Here is an example of a U-23 MAN complaining about abuse. ""The player, who spent roughly three months under Burke, said Burke would have belligerent, violent outbursts during training. Though Burke was never physically violent, as far as the player witnessed, he was insulting and aggressive. The player said that if he wasn’t being aggressive enough for Burke’s standards, then Burke would tell him to “man up” and “stop being a pussy.” The insults didn’t stop there; Burke also called the player “pathetic,” “a joke,” “moron,” and “a disgrace.” The player confirmed that Burke regularly and casually used homophobic language, specifically the f-word. “He used the word f***ot multiple times,” the player said, elaborating that it was used both as an insult against players and in jokes Burke would make."" LOL, he used the f- word. If I had a nickel for every U12 coach in the area who used the F- word, boys and girls, I'd be rich. Oh no, Burke told a young man to "man up". Oh the horror. "Stop being a pussy", ROFL, sounds like Burke was right. This player decided to to make a big deal about nothing and rat him out for trying to hold a young man accountable for his play. What a joke some of you are. Pretty obvious to me none of these who complain ever played sports on a high level including just Varsity High School sports. I honestly do not know how some of your children are going to do in the real world work force. This kind of thing is nothing in comparison to the real world. Your child is going to be living in your basement for a very long time. Good luck to you. Hopefully KL or DG didn't damage your kid too much. SMH.
