No, but [b]if I were your medical professional, I would exit the room and cover myself in more complete PPE, [/b]the kind we use for confirm positive patients. I would take time away from your care to protect myself and my other patients. I would not stay in an enclosed space with an unmasked person. And that would impact your care.

Great! I would have no problem with you wearing whatever PPE you need to feel safe. And I have worked in hospitals before — it takes at most a few minutes to put on the extra protection. In the course of hours long labor it would be an insignificant amount of time, so stop with the drama.

I’m also shocked that there are medical providers saying that their comfort is more important than the laboring woman in their care. It’s actually kind of sick that a lazy nurse on a power trip wants to force a woman in labor to wear a mask just so the nurse doesn’t have to wear more PPE.

And any nurse trying to use the threat of giving inferior care is disgusting.
