I’ve seen POC girls for soccer get fair looks and perhaps even more opportunity from the coaches i’ve been around than their nonPOC counterparts for competitive league teams. I am fairly positive about it as I believe it’s individual development as needed but theres a point when it was obvious that coaches were trying really hard to take advantage of something that wasnt there.
Not all POC are treated the same especially on the Girls side. Asian girls are typically not expected to perform and/or have the same level of athleticism/talent compare to Hispanic and African American girls. I am Asian and I see this not just from coaches but from parents too.
I have seen any boy with a distinctive haircut get preference over the years...I'm not even joking about this. That and certain ethnicities...even when the level of play is lazy. Some Clubs are especially biased in this manner.
