Not all POC are treated the same especially on the Girls side. Asian girls are typically not expected to perform and/or have the same level of athleticism/talent compare to Hispanic and African American girls. I am Asian and I see this not just from coaches but from parents too.

I have seen any boy with a distinctive haircut get preference over the years...I'm not even joking about this. That and certain ethnicities...even when the level of play is lazy. Some Clubs are especially biased in this manner.

Since this thread is about soccer style and development thought you all might like this article. Interesting how the game is changing. https://www.wsj.com/articles/fabregas-monaco-chelsea-arsenal-barcelona-11619868850?st=u7nyxyan443r9qn&reflink=article_copyURL_share

Huh? I am a rich white person and would love my son’s club to develop and not replace. I would be happy if his coach was tough on them and actually coached instead of told them regularly that they are going to be replaced. I have seen this over multiple clubs - they want to win at any cost. We have kids who could be amazing if they believed in themself and the coach took the time to focus a bit of time on them. Instead, they are bullied at games by the coach and parents (black and white!).
Additionally, if I am paying several thousand dollars a season, the kids should be developed. If yours aren’t, you are wasting your money. Your kid is not in the club to win a random coach a trophy.
So, it has nothing to do with race.

+1. I could have written this post.

Definitely happens at work, but thats another thread.

Back to topic, you want your kid to develop as a player, get some outside training, watch some games critically, play different sports, make sure they are game fit, and coachable open to feedback. Even then it may not be enough. Thats just life.

So what? You're being just as divisive as the other guy. Maybe you're the same guy trolling hard.

Definitely not same poster. Not being divisive. I’ve seen awesome players regardless of color. Seen some awful players regardless of color. Just noted who i saw got the nod for another look and it was usually when a coach thought the player could develop with better technical skills. Often didnt happen. The ratio was definitely there. What was acceptable at a younger age for one was different for another at much older ages. I am unconcerned as long as i see opportunity and development.

Not being divisive, just relaying what i saw on rosters.

Oh well, move on. You think it hasn't happened at job interviews for a hundred years? Ever heard the saying "work twice as hard to get half as far" I grew up learning this as a mantra. Life goes on.

As i wrote that, I understood what i couldnt easily clarify without a rundown of all the idiosyncrasies with organized youth soccer. FWIW, i dont think every POC is treated similarly.

This is a problem with pay to play and revenue
