I'm still trying to understand why a band for 13 year olds is being discussed on a moms and dads board.
Maybe because this band is far more interesting than whether or not Kate Middleton took a shit yesterday? Or whether or not some brat kid in the suburbs scored a 140 or a 141 in the WISC?
What makes them interesting? Their effeminate appearance? If so, that explains a lot.
Fans like the empowering messages of many of their songs, and the personalities and interactions of the members who are unique individuals and have very fun interactions with one another. Fans have watched them grow up/ become adults and overcome many relatable hardships over the last 8 years, they are like a family to each other and ARMY is considered an extension of that. It becomes very personal and hard for outsiders to understand. Fans are extremely loyal because of this history. Looks are also part of it but I don’t think it’s the most important aspect.
Will also add that I think the LGBTQ community offers a lot of fan support to them because BTS has supported the community throughout their history despite SK being generally not supportive of it at all. BTS members have never revealed any orientation.
