I can maybe understand waitlisting the OOS students but for in-state students the cost advantage is so great that there's a good chance it's a top choice even if they didn't apply ED. It's totally reasonable to apply widely, see what merit aid you get, and then ultimately go to VT because it's really the best value (unless you want to go to Alabama). [/quote]
