I think the "unfriendly" mom is someone who has a middle income and feels intimidated by the wealthier families who send their kids to Whitman. And she has decided they are all "unfriendly". They may well be, I don't know, but it seems terribly narrow and personal a perspective. Also not very focused on the academics. Again.
Why would people believe we're unfriendly just because they're intimidated by us because we have lots more money than they do? So silly of them! -DCUM
That is silly. One shouldn’t be intimidated by money. And plenty of middle income families in every school.
If one is wealthy, one shouldn't assume that less wealthy people are intimidated by one's money. Also, the median household income in Montgomery County is about $110,000, so I'm guessing that there aren't plenty of actually middle-income families in every school in Bethesda(ish).
PP here and that was my response to the top poster, assuming someone is intimidated. So I think we are on the same side of the argument.
