My first counter ended up with police letting me go and lying about my broken headlight. It  wasn't broken- no need to lie just say you got the wrong car.
The 2nd time I called for help in DV situation and ended up in jail myself since ex-DH had somehow scratched himself while beating me. Wasn't my first time to report him.
Had I left the situation and reported later, he would've been the only one arrested. I was all black and blue underneath my clothes but nobody saw it until I was in jail.
How do you not check if it has happened before? How do you not check my body if I just told you I got beat up. Not all is on my face. Ended up in jail after years of being abused. Yes, I moved out and didn't even live with him anymore when he decided to attack me. I think cops are stupid. They have the right to take us both and had no reason to do their due diligence. It was almost as if they were in a hurry. Cops are not your friends- they make things worse and nobody expects it.[/quote]
