ISEF has essentially dominated the science competition globally for a few years now. It’s a global competition vs Regeneron’s national level competition. It gives $2 million more in prizes. Hence the movie and the increased number of sponsorships. Regeneron is the 10th company to sponsor the old Westinghouse competition. It’s still very competitive, but as the MIT undergrad posted in Quorp: it shouldn’t be considered the country’s foremost competition. But unlike Regeneron, ISEF didn’t get dropped by Intel years ago for bias and incompetence. It may get dropped now, but the argument that Regeneron is that of the past holds true if you look at the amount of cash prizes and global vs national level aspects of it. https://www.quora.com/Are-competitions-like-Regeneron-STS-Siemens-and-Olympiads-unfair-Are-they-more-indicative-of-privilege-and-parental-involvement-than-actual-STEM-talent
You know this is someone's opinion, right? Do you know that Intel is dropping ISEF next year, right? Did you see where the person said all the Science fairs/competitions, including ISEF, should be dropped? In fact did you actually read and understood what he was saying? Wow! Just wow
You saw where he mentioned Regeneron first, right? As the prime example of what is wrong with science fairs, and that Intel dropped it for that very reason? And you saw that it dropped it before it dropped ISEF because it's so mediocre now? And that Regeneron gives out fewer prizes and has only a national clout over ISEF's international competition? RIGHT. Keep digging troll.
