Please try to understand how that impacts the hard numbers, and then take a look at the numbers for ALL of FCPS compared to ALL of MCPS. Then look at proportional rate, and come back and post. Thanks.

In the latest profile 84 students took the Math SAT II and the average score was 788. Out of 78 kids taking the AP Calc BC exam (because they take the test even though they don't take the AP class) 68 got 5's. I really have not put much time into the TJ/Blair competition but this thread trying to compare a whole school magnet to a 100 kid program is idiotic. And this line about AP classes...
Post links vs. just spouting stuff. And cite specific instances. Because I really think you're just making stuff up.
Magnet classes are great, but they don't give metrics for that in US News or Great Schools. So you can tout the "better" classes, but it doesn't make the rankings higher if they can't be normalized in a rating.
And I get that people are upset to even compared B-Liar to TJ, but let's be clear: your school is still at #1064. You haven't provided arguments, just opinions on why it's better, and you can't give a sufficient reason why it's ranked so low other than it's being ratioed. If it was a great school, it wouldn't be failing so many of its kids-- in fact, it would at least have a 90+ graduation rate. (But it doesn't! Shocker!). It would be an overall great school and not just a great school for 100 kids.
TJ still has more ISEF winners, science bowl winners, more kids that go the HYPS, and more graduates than TJ, more kids that take the AP exam, and higher test scores. And I get it: you are focused on the rate-- you can't compare it to a school that has only 100 smart kids! (Wait, so a school should only focus on the smart kids and let the other ones fail? Really?!?!?!) But if the overall quality of the school is lacking, the magnet program isn't going to attract parents. Because parents look at the ranking, which is the RATE of which the kids are failing.
And for the record: I understand rate vs. hard numbers. That's why I post the rankings. Because those are based on rates, statistically plotted and analyzed by pros. And as none of you can explain why your schools still fall way behind ours, I'm thinking that you only want to cherry pick rates when it suits you... vs. looking at the data plotted by US News.
But it's so fun to watch you guys get your panties in a bunch and calling me an idiot and a moron. It just gives me so much joy to see you angry you get... like little toddlers being told they can't get candy. Gold stars for all you special guys! Name calling is what I like to call the winner's treat on DCUM. It's when I know that I'm right and you know it too... and have to deal with your number issues.
Also: B-Liar's football coached raped a 16 year old and it's award winning math teacher harrassed his female students for decades, so let's not forget that gem.
Go B-Liar!

Because you can’t.
But keep calling me stupid. That’s what really smart people resort to.
It's because I won't lower myself to your level.
Your posts showed that you're stupid and ignorant. For example, you said:
Nah, you can't rise to it.
MCPS is losing new blood to FCPS- because of our schools that test higher at SOLs than your CC
Of course FCPS do... because MCPS doesn't do SOL. How dumb can you be?
Whatever CC is, it's different from SOL.
Actually, it's on par, and your state average is about 44%, with Blair scoring around 51% in English.
Blair scores at 8% in Algebra 1 compared to a state average of 36%.
But if we want to normalize the test scores, let's look at AP tests.
Blair kids only have 2% taking AP Math and Science. Tell me something: if we're going you have 100 out of 625 kids in the Blair magnet, why is only 2% of your class taking AP Math? Shouldn't it just be on par with the rest of MD at about 6%? 16% of your class is magnet: it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that they are just not doing it.
Compared to TJ with a 36% Math AP course participation and a 26% Science AP course participation: you guys are doing <10% of what we are doing here. *slow clap*
Spouting off nonsense does not equal a rebuttal. Your Blair kids are failing nationally. They just aren't that smart. Just like you, huh?
Also: you never address the arguments about population growth. If this was a term paper, you'd fail.
it doesn’t win science bowl,
A simple Google search could have told you that's false.
But you're too stupid to even to a search before making a fool out of yourself.
You mean how TJ has won 4 and Blair has won 2? Please. Google and READ more deeply vs. just making claims without proof.
At least one of the posters actually posted links with arguments. And that person isn’t you
You have just responded to my link about regeneron-sts( which you were clueless about)and then you made the idiotic comment above. Really? Selective memory?
All your posts are full of idiotic comments and cluelessness.
You're not only dumb and ignorant but judging from your posts, you're probably mentally unstable.
It would be an exercise in futility to keep arguing with you.
TJ and FCPS must be proud of you.

Regeneron is the 10th company to sponsor the old Westinghouse competition. It’s still very competitive, but as the MIT undergrad posted in Quorp: it shouldn’t be considered the country’s foremost competition. But unlike Regeneron, ISEF didn’t get dropped by Intel years ago for bias and incompetence. It may get dropped now, but the argument that Regeneron is that of the past holds true if you look at the amount of cash prizes and global vs national level aspects of it.

You know this is someone's opinion, right?
Do you know that Intel is dropping ISEF next year, right?
Did you see where the person said all the Science fairs/competitions, including ISEF, should be dropped?
In fact did you actually read and understood what he was saying?
Wow! Just wow
