My read of the above post is that it's ridiculous to think in terms of running any given Chinese immersion program where most students are AA or Hispanic. Some of these kids in America in 2019, sure, but not most. A good cohort of Chinese speakers is obviously needed to keep language and cultural studies from being a flop.[/quote]
