Ok, I'll turn the tablet off and you can listen to DC crying and whining for the next 15 minutes. (BTW - many 2-3 year olds will not keep headphones on their ears) Question - would you be as ticked off if I had brought a book and was reading aloud to DC?
Actually, yes. I don't need your top-volume rendition of 'Chicken Soup with Rice' or whatever. If you had the good sense to manage your kids they would not be whining in public at 3. If your kids are that out of control, take them home.
It’s entirely age appropriate to have whiny behavior in public at age 3. It is not “bad parenting” when a three year old whines and a parent is managing the whining via a book or a device. Three years olds are not known for their impeccable manners. But guess what- they are allowed to be in public. Their parents are allowed to be in public And sometimes kids misbehave in public.
The fact that it happens does not make it less annoying. Really, take them home if you can't get them to behave.
I have a better idea. Kids can stay. YOU go home. You sound very whiny and cranky. Nap time?
Mom of toddler and I agree with this. Kids don't belong everywhere, and if you can't get yours to behave normally without screens with the volume up, you should stay home until you can.
Maybe you are too insecure to take your child places but I am not- restaurants, planes, trains, museums- my family loves to experience new things. Unless it’s a very fancy restaurant or a show where silence is required, my kid is part of the public and belongs in the public space just like you do.
Lol. I'm sure everyone enjoys listening to your kids watching TV loudly on their tablets in a museum. I think you misunderstand me. I too take my kid places, but I go to age appropriate places, so a family friendly restaurant with high chairs and coloring stuff provided versus somewhere fancy, museum with a play space we can use after we've looked at some things. Basically, I have normal expectations based on my kids age, and go places with him that makes sense, instead of taking him every single place I want to go and letting him watch movies all day on a tablet while I enjoy myself. It's called parenting.
