Or did OP insist someone sit him her child? At that age someone is generally sitting with 1 years olds anyway. And helps feed them
OP here, it was daycare’s idea to give him a lunch buddy (adult who sits right next to DS). Otherwise, the daycare teachers just sort of hover while the kids eat. Half this board will still think I’m an over-sensitive, ridiculous, drama queen, with a greedy 14-month old. (Also, I’m still under 40! OK, barely.) Thanks to all those who didn’t think I was ridiculous with respect to either the feeding evaluation or my parents. Two thoughts: (1) having been raised by my parents, I sometimes need to ask my husband, friends, DCUrbanmom “is this normal?” I sometimes have no idea. (E.g., I don’t really “get” why people think Betty Draper on Madmen was a bad mom.) That’s why I was asking. Obviously if my mother had a pattern of nervous laughter, I wouldn’t be asking. 2) I also am surprised by those who think the feeding evaluation was ridiculous. Even if this had been a one time incident, the pediatrician still had to agree to the referral.
