The posters who say that men do not want to date female lawyers are right on. But it isn't because theyre ugly or stressed. It is because a female 28 year earning 200k would NOT want to date a guy who makes 100k, which is the majority of early thirtysomething men. She will want a guy who makes at least 350k+. She prices herself out of the market and the average 100k Joes know it. They don't even want to go there as she is out of their league. If they ask her out, they will be turned down. As such a 100k Joe will pick and marry the teacher. FWIW female lawyers are gorgeous. They have the money to look nice and wear beautiful clothes.
The poster who identified himself as “DH here” already made this point, but it’s interesting that you echo it independently. I tend to believe what you both say because I have friends who make 350+ and won’t date anyone who makes less. Kinda cuts off 99% of the market.
Yes. in the dating market it is the women who do the choosing not the men. The dynamics are the way they are because of women's choices. Most men will want to date or have sex with any pretty willing woman. High earning women stay single longer because they are holding out to meet a man who out earns them. It is biology. Hairdressers and Teachers are the top picks of most men because they're all most men can afford financially.
It’s a shame. I have a southern girlfriend who passed on a man who has gone on to be an amazing husband to one of our other friends. She graduated making 160K at some fancy firm and was ashamed to be with any man who wasn’t making more. BUT she didn’t want to date much older. Well, not many 24 year old men making 160K with the promise of steady increases!
Is she married now?
