Just want to point out that the bishop has apologized for both transgressions. As I said, earlier, young black folks would handle it and make sure he knew he was wrong, on both counts. ttps://www.washingtonpost.com/news/arts-and-entertainment/wp/2018/09/01/pastor-apologizes-to-ariana-grande-for-grazing-her-breast-at-aretha-franklins-funeral/?utm_term=.0c7c2bbf78a5
Young black folks are the only ones who called him out? Really??
Black folks WERE indeed the first to call it out and the ones who got him to apologize! Most of yall only found out about this because of this thread. It was HANDLED likely before this thread was even written. So just back up ok. Call out your own and stop worrying about what we're doing. Thanks.
Are you under the impression that only Black people should speak out about a man groping a woman? Because the perpetrator is Black? What about the victim? "Call out your own" is ridiculous. Anyone who sees it can call it out. "Stop worrying about what we're doing?" Who gives a damn what you are doing? Did someone make you the spokesperson for all Black people? Thanks, indeed.
This “call out your own” business is a response to someone early in the thread commenting that black people would give this guy a pass on both the touching and the racial comment because he’s black. It’s the same kind of mentality that causes some white people to respond to rage about yet another unjustified killing of a black man by a cop by questioning why black people don’t care about “black on black crime” (an assumption that is a distraction and not true). Personally, I am an AA person who is happy to have everyone call out this awful, creepy guy.
