OP here, I dont smoke or drink in front of my kids. That is the choice by DH and I have made. My kids have commented on others in social settings that other people seem to drink too much. We talk to them about drinking alcohol responsible.We try to be open because the reality is that our kids will be exposed to alcohol and drugs at some point.[/quote]

OP, if you believe it's okay to smoke pot and drink alcohol, then your best chance for teaching your children about using both substances responsibly is to actually model that responsible behavior. Talk is cheap. Remember, it's not what you say that really influences them, it's what they see you doing. So be genuinely open with them, and expose them to alcohol and drugs used in ways that you believe model responsible use.[/quote]

Huh. You're ridiculous. Marijuana and alcohol are both substances. Asking why person would do one and not the other in front of their children is a completely reasonable question. What the hell are you talking about bringing sex into this? Why is using pot an "adult activity" and not drinking? You don't seem too bright. Maybe lay off the joints for a while.[/quote]
