I'm not sure why you all are surprised. Schools are basically prisons - they're filled with people who are basically the same, the 'warden' (principal and headmaster) are mainly there to make sure their college admittance rates are high and to make sure their students don't start beating each other up. Beyond that they really don't care. To think that a private school would be better than a public school in terms of how nice the students are to each other is naive at best. Just because you're rich and high-society doesn't mean you're gonna be a nice kid... hell I'd say the biggest assholes I knew were the really rich ones. Anyway, as an alum of SFS, and knowing people who go there now, I can confirm that the poem was certainly misogynistic and in poor taste. Hell even my class' poem wasn't that nice, but it was nowhere on the level of this most recent one. We also didn't interrupt our meeting till it was almost over. IMO the poem is a stupid tradition that has gone from a little joke that nobody gets that offended by to a hateful, venomous act. Then again, like I said earlier, it'd be nice to expect kids at a $30,000/year school to act more civil but they really aren't much different from a kid at Blair or Wilson.
