1. It was more than one PP pointing out about the risk of this drug 2. Defensive much? 3. Yes all drugs have side effects. It's well known that aspirin can cause stomach ulcers. It can also prevent heart attacks. You have to weigh the risks vs benefits. So if you are morbidly obese..probably worth it. I just objected when someone just wanted to look better and not nec. B.c they were having health problems because of their weight.
This is a diet forum. If you don't like people talking about medically supervised weight loss that includes short-term drug prescriptions, perhaps you should find another forum rather than continually derailing the discussion here.
Look, I had an MI at age 39. No risk factors. No high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, clotting disorder, heart defect, atherosclerosis etc. It was just caused by stress. It was super scary and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Esp not to lose 10 lbs to look confident in a bikini.
I am prescribed Phentermine and am monitored by a doctor...who takes an EKG every other visit. Its a good drug for those who need the help losing weight. Just because you had a MI, doesn't mean others will. Don't poop on others. For me, it helped me and I had no side effects. Zero.
