I didn't say they did. But on average, the recruited athlete at UW has a much higher threshold for admissions than just about any school in the P5 except Stanford, Northwestern and maybe Vanderbilt. Yes and GA Tech - I forgot about them.

And to the 'special waivers" it isn't for GPA or ACT but rather the UW has an entry language requirement that all Wisconsin high schools have as core curriculum,but out of state athletes may not have to fulfill. So on occasion, the admissions office may grant a waiver for circumstances. I can name 5 very high level recruits in football and basketball over the last two cycles where admissions didn't grant the waiver, so it is very very rare.
